Senegalese American Chamber of Commerce issues documentary proof of origin for goods exported from Senegal and certifies a variety of other export documents; for example: Packing Lists, Commercial Invoices, Proforma Invoices, etc. According to the requirements of foreign buyers and foreign customs authorities. The chamber issues a certificate of origin in accordance with international guidelines on the certificate of origin prepared by the World Federation of Chambers, the specialized division of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) for the affairs of the chamber.
A Certificate of Origin (COO) is an international trade document certifying the origin of goods to be exported. It is a document that is used to certify that the exported products are wholly obtained or partially produced or manufactured in a particular country. It is usually an integral part of the export documents. This approval is not limited only to members of the chamber. Each company requiring export documentation is required to complete and return the Chamber Documentation Service Registration Form to register the company, its authorized signatories and the manufacturing cost statement. This form only needs to be completed once. However, the chamber must be notified of changes to company signatories or other company details.

In the case of one business acting on behalf of another, a letter must accompany the Documentation Service enrollment form stating this fact. Registration is free. The certificate must be completed and the declaration signed by an authorized officer of the society prior to certification by the chamber. All signatures must be originals and photocopies will not be accepted.

The purpose of the certificate of origin is to facilitate international trade, to prove that the exported product is manufactured and produced in a specified country. It is required by some countries to determine whether duties or tariffs should be imposed on imported products.

The chamber currently issues five types of certificates: EUR, GSP, IMPERIAL PREFERENCE, COMBINED CERTIFICATE, ECOWAS.
The following documents are required before the Certificate of Origin can be issued: Type of certificate, Exporter Tin Number, Name and address of exporter, Name and address of importer, Unloading dock, ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Number (optional but important), Product Description, Product HS Code, Quantity of goods, Net weight, Gross weight, Total invoice value.

Note: In addition, all exporters must provide a commercial invoice or packing list, customs declaration form, bill of lading, etc. to the Senegalese-American Chamber of Commerce to facilitate the processing of the certificate.
